43.º Festival de Otoño | Madrid 2025

43rd Autumn Festival of the Community of Madrid

From November 6 to 30, 2025, Madrid will host the 43rd edition of the Festival de Otoño, a major cultural event that this year takes place under the artistic direction of Mexican curator Marcela Díez. The festival creates a space for dialogue between Spain and Latin America, where language and culture act as bridges for artistic, aesthetic, and generational exchange.

The program brings together theatre, dance, music, and performance, with more than fifty percent of the productions coming from Latin America. This edition stands out for its inclusive approach and its desire to integrate different visions and realities that, while sharing a common language, express diverse worlds.

Among the musical highlights is Coup Fatal, a show that reimagines Baroque music through the Congolese tradition with influences of rock and jazz, under the musical direction of Fabrizio Cassol and stage direction by Alain Platel (November 6–8, Teatros del Canal). The program Amor imposible by the Orchestra and Choir of the Community of Madrid (ORCAM), conducted by Alondra de la Parra, will also be presented, featuring works by Gershwin, Prokofiev, and Revueltas (November 7, Teatro Auditorio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial).

The festival continues with notable productions from Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Uruguay, and Chile, offering a scenic journey through various contemporary sensibilities. Works such as Labio de liebre by Teatro Petra, Los días afuera by Lola Arias, and Ofrenda para el monstruo by Tamara Cubas address social, political, and personal themes with a modern perspective.

The 2025 Festival de Otoño invites Madrid residents and visitors alike to immerse themselves in a November filled with new voices, emotions, and perspectives, where art becomes a common language uniting both sides of the Atlantic.
