AURORA and Tom Rowlands launch new project TOMORA and unveil a powerful debut track

Norwegian singer AURORA and The Chemical Brothers co-founder Tom Rowlands have officially announced the launch of their joint project TOMORA, presenting their first single Ring The Alarm. The news instantly drew attention from the global music industry, as this collaboration merges AURORA’s expressive vocal style with Rowlands’ distinctive electronic aesthetic — a unique combination fans have long wanted to hear in a complete format.

The name TOMORA is formed from the fusion of the artists’ names — TOM and ORA, symbolizing not a temporary collaboration but a new artistic union. The musicians emphasize that they view TOMORA not as a “producer + featured artist” project but as a full-fledged band with its own sound and concept. This positioning already distinguishes their debut from typical collaborations and sets high expectations.

TOMORA’s first release — the energetic track Ring The Alarm — arrived together with a music video directed by Adam Smith, a longtime visual partner of The Chemical Brothers. His direction highlights the contrast between AURORA’s atmospheric vocals and Rowlands’ signature electronic drive, creating a vivid entry point into the project’s new musical space.

The emergence of TOMORA appears to be a natural evolution of their creative relationship: AURORA previously contributed to The Chemical Brothers’ album No Geography, and Rowlands worked on material for her record What Happened To The Heart?. Their shared studio experiments gradually led to an idea that has now taken shape as an official band.

Interest is further fueled by rumors that TOMORA may appear in the lineups of major 2026 festivals, including Coachella, NOS Alive, Øya Festival, and others. Although the artists have not revealed their plans, the wording in the press release suggests that Ring The Alarm is only the beginning of a series of new releases, not a standalone debut.

The music community is already calling TOMORA one of the most promising newcomers at the intersection of electronic and alternative pop scenes. Strong creative identities, a long path of collaboration, and the bold sound of the first single give the sense that the global stage has gained a project capable of becoming a significant phenomenon and reshaping the familiar landscape of the genre.
