Leire Martínez returns: the debut album “Historias de aquella niña” will be released on February 20, 2026
After several years of professional change, Leire Martínez has officially announced the release of her first solo album. The new record is titled Historias de aquella niña — an ambitious project that reflects both her past and her desire to reinvent herself.
Historias de aquella niña includes 12 tracks, many of which are already familiar to listeners: previously released singles — “Mi nombre”, “Tres deseos” and “Tonto por ti” (a duet with Abraham Mateo) — will appear on the final version of the album. In addition, artists such as Miranda! , Edurne and Andrés Suárez took part in the recording, each contributing their own sound and character.
The release is scheduled for February 20, 2026, and the artist has already shared the album cover — an image in which she seems to “rise from the ashes” of her former life, marking a new beginning that symbolizes personal transformation. The stories that took shape over many months now find their form and will soon be available to listeners.
For Leire, this album is more than just a musical project. It marks the transition from her role as the vocalist of the legendary band La Oreja de Van Gogh to that of an independent artist able to tell her own story in her own voice. “It’s a new breath in which you can finally hear me, ” is how she described her work on Historias de aquella niña.
The announcement of this album has become one of the most talked-about music news items at the end of 2025: both fans and critics note that Leire has chosen a strong and honest path — and are eagerly waiting to hear the final result.
