The Full List of Nominees for Induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026 Has Been Announced
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has officially revealed the list of artists nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2026. The expanded lineup includes 17 performers and bands representing different eras and genres — from heavy metal and alternative rock to pop, R& B, and hip-hop.
Among the most talked-about names are Iron Maiden, Oasis, Mariah Carey, Phil Collins, Joy Division/New Order, INXS, Billy Idol, Sade, Wu-Tang Clan, Shakira, P! NK, Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, Melissa Etheridge, Jeff Buckley, New Edition, and The Black Crowes. These artists make up the official list of Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2026 nominees.
For several performers, this is not their first attempt to be inducted. Iron Maiden, Oasis, Mariah Carey, and Joy Division/New Order have each received their third nomination for inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, reflecting consistent support within the professional community. The Black Crowes, as well as Sade and Billy Idol, have also appeared on previous nominee lists.
Phil Collins deserves special mention: the musician was inducted into the Hall of Fame as a member of Genesis in 2010 and is now being considered as a solo artist. If successful, he would become a two-time inductee in different capacities.
At the same time, this year marks the first nomination for ten of the artists. Jeff Buckley, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, New Edition, P! NK, Shakira, Luther Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan have been nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame for the first time. According to the foundation’s rules, an artist becomes eligible 25 years after the release of their first commercial recording.
The selection process involves more than 1,200 music industry professionals — including artists, historians, producers, and journalists — who vote to determine the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2026. The final inductees will be announced in April 2026, with the induction ceremony traditionally taking place in the fall.
Founded in 1983, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame annually honors musicians who have made a significant impact on the development of modern music. The 2026 nominations once again demonstrate a broad genre spectrum and a balance between classic rock icons and artists who have shaped the sound of recent decades.
The list of nominees has already sparked active discussion among fans and critics, and the race for a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026 promises to be one of the most closely watched in recent years.
