Michael Schenker Group: Guitar Virtuosity and the Legacy of Classic Hard Rock

Michael Schenker Group return to Spain with the Don’t Sell Your Soul tour, marking a new chapter in the career of one of hard rock’s most influential guitarists. Robin McAuley joins Michael Schenker on vocals, renewing a musical partnership that holds a special place in the band’s history, particularly for fans of its late-1980s era. The Spanish dates span three cities: Barcelona on 5 November at Razzmatazz 1, León on 7 November at the Lion Rock Fest, and Bilbao on 8 November at Sala Santana 27.

Michael Schenker’s career is closely connected to some of rock’s most significant bands. He began his professional journey with Scorpions before gaining international recognition as a guitarist with British rock band UFO. In 1979, he founded Michael Schenker Group, creating a project that allowed him to develop his distinctive musical identity, built around technical precision, expressive melodies and the unmistakable sound of his guitar.

The tour takes its name from the album Don’t Sell Your Soul, which provides the focus for this latest chapter in the group’s story. Robin McAuley’s return to the lineup brings an added historical dimension. Their collaboration produced landmark albums including Perfect Timing and Save Yourself, both released in the late 1980s.

The Spanish shows bring together musicians whose work has helped shape international hard rock. Barcelona and Bilbao will host the band in club venues, while the León performance forms part of the Lion Rock Fest programme. For fans of classic hard rock, Scorpions, UFO and Michael Schenker’s distinctive guitar playing, the tour offers a chance to reconnect with a musical legacy that continues to resonate across generations of rock audiences.
