Carthaginians and Romans Festival 2025: history, culture, and fun in Cartagena
From September 19 to 28, 2025, Cartagena transforms into a historical stage to reenact the conquest of the city by Roman general Scipio in 209 BC. For ten days, the city hosts the Carthaginians and Romans Festival, an event declared of International Tourist Interest.
Participants, organized into troops and legions, recreate historical events such as landings, battles, and ceremonies, including the famous wedding between Hannibal and Himilce. The highlight is the grand parade on Saturday, where all troops march through the streets of Cartagena, offering a stunning visual spectacle.
